Ingrid Marshall, Principal FRAIA, NSW Architect Registration Number 13043

Ingrid Marshall is a Principal at Deicke Richards with more than 26 years of professional experience across the full spectrum of architectural service delivery. She holds a Bachelor of Speech Therapy (University of Queensland, 1989) and a Bachelor of Architecture (University of Queensland, 1998) and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and a Churchill Fellow.

At Deicke Richards, Ingrid is involved in all stages of project delivery, from design development through to documentation and contract administration. She is highly experienced in managing multidisciplinary consultant teams and internal delivery teams and plays a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the practice, particularly in relation to systems, procedures, and the consistent delivery of high-quality outcomes.

Ingrid’s primary area of focus and interest is seniors living and aged care, including specialist expertise in designing for ageing and dementia. Her work is underpinned by a deep commitment to understanding the lived experience of older people and translating those insights into environments that are dignified, supportive, and responsive. This focus extends beyond practice through her role as a founding member of Places for Ageing and her ongoing involvement as a tutor in architecture at the University of Queensland.

In 2024 Ingrid was the recipient of the James Love Churchill Fellowship. Her research looked at international house-like residential aged care models and their Australian viability. She is recognised a leading voice on house-like models of residential aged care and was a founding member of key industry body Places for Ageing.

Some of Ingrid’s personal career highlights include Hymba Yumba Stage 1, TriCare Williams Landing, and the Reimagining Where We Live competition, projects that reflect her ability to balance empathy, rigour and design excellence. Ingrid is motivated by the belief that architecture can meaningfully improve quality of life, and she is committed to creating spaces that positively impact the lives of elderly people and the communities that support them.
